Guake not appear when you press F12

After the upgrade to Gnome 3.22 the Guake no longer appears after pressing F12. It is loaded, but the F12 key does not respond. I did a clean install on a virtual machine and realized that it is not error of my system. It seems to be a shortcut conflict problem because with the Chrome open the Guake works normally.

Anyone else with this problem? Is it problem with Guake or Gnome?

Having same issue. To be Specific, it doesn't work only when desktop is focused. If works OK if any other application has the focus.

Re: Guake not appear when you press F12

It seems it's not just the desktop - it also doesn't work when the focus is on Nautilus (Files) or the Calculator.

Re: Guake not appear when you press F12

I have the exact same problem. It also doesn't work when gnome terminal is open.

Aren't you by any chance experiencing strange keyboard behavior if you use multiple languages/keyboard mapping?
Also if you are on a laptop, is your touchpad working as it was before? (or is the scrolling inverted?)

Edit:

Doesn't seem to me like a hotkey conflict since changing the hotkey in the preferences doesn't affect the situation.

Re: Guake not appear when you press F12

You can "fix" this by adding a shortcut entry in settings> keyboard and map <F12> to guake

Re: Guake not appear when you press F12

Actually, this does not happen with other applications, however, provided they are not part of the Gnome package. Calculator, Nautilus, photos, etc. do not work. Is it a bug to be reported in the Guake or Gnome package?

About creating a shortcut, I would not do this, I want to fix the problem, not having to use artifices something to fix something that is wrong.

Change Natural scrolling on Mouse Settings. My mouse, since the switch to libinput only makes scrolling with two fingers, some people had the same problems with their touch with this exchange.

Just a guess: Do you use the X or the Wayland session?

Re: Guake not appear when you press F12

Sorry, I'm confused now. I test and saw that the Wayland library was already installed, I installed Weston and saw that he is a manager that replaces the Gnome-Shell. At login I saw that has the Gnome and Gnome on Xorg on options. When using Gnome on Xorg, Guake worked just right. The other option is the gnome-shell on Wayland?

You know to leave sufficient standard Xorg select once and log in or have to set up something? For me it is better with him as my mouse returned to work the scroll on the edge again.

The tests, it is the contrary, the problem is in Wayland. In GDM click the gear and try to login as Gnome on Xorg and see if it works.

Wayland is a dependency of gnome-shell. So you should have it installed, already.

Re: Guake not appear when you press F12

I recommend using this shell extension: https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/ … -terminal/ . It works just fine and seems to be more reliable than guake.

Re: Guake not appear when you press F12

Although this is resolved, honestly I did not like this last update. My system slowed with Wayland compared to the Xorg I'm testing. Several times the mouse is indicating processing and my Gnome icons are changing randomly. I do not know if I will use Wayland this time, even if solving the problem Guake.

Even after I found out until the problem of my mouse Edge Scrolling (only worked scroll with two fingers) was due to Wayland and not to any other configuration.
