Strange behavior after upgrading gnome

Hello.

I upgraded gnome last night and I am facing a number of problems ever since.

First of all, the touchpad scrolling is inverted. I tried

Section "InputClass"
    Option "VertScrollDelta" "-111"
    Option "HorizScrollDelta" "-111"
EndSection

to

/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/70-synaptics.conf

which did not fix it. I also tried changing the value in dconf editor, which did not work either.

The second problem I'm facing is that my <F12> shortcut for guake drop down terminal is not working in *certain* windows. It doesn't work when no window is open in the current desktop, it doesn't work in gnome terminal (it changes the case of the letters from the current position to the end of the line), but it works fine in chromium or say gvim or when it's own settings window is on top.

Are these related? Where should I read/look for a solution?

Thank you for your time.

P.s.

Re: Strange behavior after upgrading gnome

I know it sounds to simple:
a) are you sure that you still work under X11, GDM defaulted to Wayland after upgrade
b) check your mouse and touchpad-settings in gnome-settings, "inverted" == "natural scrolling"
