Archiso media ethernet connection issue [Solved]

Have noticed that when trying arch install media on my laptop, it waits for a job to be completed (ethernet connection) while booting. While udev rule (archiso releng) works under virtualbox, on a laptop that is not connected to a wired connection boot process is much slower.

Would not class it as a bug more of a feature. Could a wired connection be tested first before say running udev rule?

Re: Archiso media ethernet connection issue [Solved]

What makes you think the problem is with udev?

Network setup is done by network management software (netctl, networkmanager, systemd-networkd etc.). Some will cause the boot to wait for the network to be "fully" up (or timeout), others don't. The former has the advantage of giving more certainty about whether you do or don't have networking.

If you are using the install medium a lot, why not just rebuild it with different network management?
