kde1 started but X exited with no error. It's made from ~/.xinitrc.
But if start kwm first and then startkde manually, kde1 starts successfully.

I tried it with startkde in opt, using the instructions from the linked gist. Worked for me when I tried it. Anyway, report these things on the AUR page.
