Awesome WM dual screen does not work after recent Gnome upgrade

Hi,

I met a problem about my awesome wm after a recent gnome upgrade.
I use two monitor and has a dual screen setup in awesome wm. But after the recent gnome 3.22.1 upgrade, my awesome can not
recognize dual screen, and it mirror the primary to secondary screen by default. I suspect it is related to Wayland, but I'm not sure
where is the problem and how to investigate it.

Here is some of my system information:

If I chose 'Gnome' as login WM:

$ xrandr -q
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 3840 x 1080, maximum 8192 x 8192
XWAYLAND0 connected 1920x1080+0+0 510mm x 290mm

XWAYLAND1 connected 1920x1080+1920+0 510mm x 290mm

Re: Awesome WM dual screen does not work after recent Gnome upgrade

What configures your screen layout? xorg.conf.d?
Ensure

xrandr --output HDMI1 --auto --output HDMI2 --auto --right-of HDMI1

is run somewhere (eg. in xinitrc, iff awesomes startup sources it)

Re: Awesome WM dual screen does not work after recent Gnome upgrade

I met the same issue.
I'm totally a newbie on wayland.
I chose "gnome on xorg" option on gdm when logining to avoid it.
