Sorry, I'm pretty much a newb and I'm now sure how to go about diagnosing this. All I can tell you is what happens.
That is the the HTML5 Player works once after I reboot the computer. But if I close down the browser, or even if I pause the playback, it won't start again.
Just the video won't start. It loads, and I can use the progress bar on YouTube to advance through the video, but it only ever shows a "paused" still frame. It won't start playing again.
I've tried it with both Chromium and Opera and the same issue exists on both of them, also regardless of the source of the video (Youtube or some other HTML5 video on the web).

You should provide more tangible information, terminal output of affected applications, your video card and the driver used for example, does anything get logged in dmesg or the journal?
