Hi there,
the latest update (done on 24/10 after no update for about 12 days) brought severe problems with the KDE desktop. In more detail, the latency when moving/clicking frames is tremedous with sometimes the whole desktop freezing (without any excessiv use of cpu or ram visible via top). I have removed the relevant plasma and kwin configuration files in ~/.config but nothing changed.
A remedy was to boot into KDE/openbox which left me with the clue that the problem must be within kwin.
Anybody having experienced a similar problem and any suggestion for a repair/work-around
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, thanks for the reply.
Which drivers you wanna know??

Graphics card I'd presume. In particular, if our hunches are going into the same direction, if you have xf86-video-intel you might want to try without it. Also which output is your card connected to? VGA, DP, HDMI?

Hi,
I have a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 operated via driver 370.28. Screen is connected via mini display port.
Finally had trouble using openbox/kde as well.
Currently everything seems to work after switching to kwin_x11/GDM instead of kwin_x11/SDDM.
Cheers
