No providers listed in xrandr

I have these "graphic cards" in my laptop:

[joiny@Jarch ~]$ lspci -nn | grep '\[03'
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0a16] (rev 0b)
03:00.0 Display controller [0380]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Topaz XT [Radeon R7 M260/M265 / M340/M360] [1002:6900]

With this driver installed: (installing intel drivers doesn't work either, so I wanted to just install ATI, to use my Radeon all the time)

[joiny@Jarch ~]$ pacman -Qs xf86-video
local/xf86-video-ati 1:7.7.1-1 (xorg-drivers xorg)
    X.org ati video driver

I didn't do any manual configuration, except for installing PRIME and removing it again, because I had no time to configure it.

[joiny@Jarch ~]$ xrandr --listproviders
Providers: number : 0

Of course my system is up to date. I already tried installing the xf86-video-amdgpu driver, but it didn't work. Any Ideas?

Re: No providers listed in xrandr

Yes, but if I log in to Gnome on xorg there are no providers listed, but I think there should appear at least 1 provider?

Re: No providers listed in xrandr

yes, what does

xdpyinfo | grep -A50 extensions

say? Does the list especially mention xrandr?
Do you maybe use some xinerama config? What does your xorg.conf* look like? (really nothing at all? not even in the xorg.conf.d directory?)
Ultimately, post your Xorg.0.log (either in /var/log or ~/.local/share/xorg - whichever is the recent one)

Beneath the log, it only uses the synapsis input configuration files, all the display related configs are made by default due to the missing xorg.config file neutral

There it is ;-)

10-evdev.conf  10-quirks.conf  40-libinput.conf  70-synaptics.conf

This is your xorg.conf - quirks could be intersting.

Also check whether this is simply a bug in the intel driver. Uninstall xf86-video-intel to get the modesetting driver.
And check whether "DRI_PRIME" is still set.
Did you blacklist any kernel modules?

Re: No providers listed in xrandr

The files in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/ are the default files for X11 Arch provides.
Afaik they haven't given problems in years.

Using the first device section listed.
[    54.138] (**) |   |-->Device "Device0"

Those lines do suggest there is a *.conf file somewhere, maybe in /etc/X11 ?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Did that already, but it didn't change anything...

"DRI_PRIME" is set, I don't blacklist any modules...

But I think I will close this topic, as I will reinstall Arch with different configurations from scratch in the near future.
