I have recently gone from plasma to gnome, and havent noticed it is now defaulted to wayland, untill i tried playing some games, all in all I wanted to run gnome on x, which does not seem to work, configured xinitrc, and executed startx, and it didnt work, this is the log from that start:

Looks like you may have a *.conf file that doesn't match your hardware .
run
find /etc/X11 -name '*.conf' -print
, move or delete all files that command lists.
then try starting X again.
If starting without any *.conf file also fails, post lspci -k , dmesg , latest xorg log and contents of ~/.xinitrc .
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
