Abiword: the main windows is black.

This has been some time that I experience refreshing and display problems with Abiword but this is going from bad to worse. Now the main windows (when we type text) is entirely black but flickers when we resize it (and sometimes let briefly show the actual content of the windows). As is the application is unusable. I have tried to recompile it with gtk2 instead of gtk3 but I get an error (unfortunately, I do not have the log, but  I might retry). Does somebody here uses this application? The issue persist with a brand new user without custom config; so the default theme is used (Adwaita).

I use abiword occasionally - also seeing the black window now when trying to type on up to date system (XFCE4). Seems to be a bug...

After recompile abiword with

--with-gtk2 --disable-goffice

It build and works properly. Abiword never worked correctly with gtk3 for me, so I think sticking with gtk2 is a good option until upstream manage to have it works properly with gtk3.
