Lenovo Y5070 boot issues when upgrading kernel from 4.5.x to 4.6+

When I upgraded my kernel from a 4.5 series kernel to 4.6 or higher, I found myself having some issues on boot: It would complain about not being able to remount root filesystems, and then drop me into a recovery shell.  From the recovery shell I had no problem mounting the failed filesystems with the same commands that systemctl had tried to use.  Once I exited the shell, it booted into KDE just fine, but I found several devices not working, particularly audio and networking (NetworkManager starts successfully, but the only available interface is lo).

At the time I first found this, I just downgraded my kernel, but just this week, I tried to upgrade to the latest kernel, and had the same issues with 4.8.6.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Here is my dmesg, if that's helpful.
