keyboard & mouse not working after kernel updgrade

Hi

I am trying to upgrade my kernel from linux-4.7.6-1 to any version that is higher than that

i tried :

linux-4.8.2-1
linux-4.8.4-1
linux-4.8.6-1

after updating i reboot the system and i am stuck on the login page with mouse & keyboard not responding

i have lenovo T460

any idea?

"Login page" as in TTY or a DM? If the latter, can you switch to a TTY? If the former, chroot in and grab the journal from the previous (failed) boot and see what is not being loaded.
