Hi, just as described in the subject, if I execute "nm-applet" the process dies inmediately, but if I execute it with root permissions it operates as usual, with the exception of this error (which does not appear to have any negative consequences):
(nm-applet:874): nm-applet-WARNING **: Failed to show notification: Error al lanzar («spawn») el comando «dbus-launch --autolaunch=2a619f2ce63f489e82f71d32ece6430a --binary-syntax --close-stderr»: El proceso hijo terminó con el código 1Other tray applications, such as pasystray, launch correctly without root permissions.
I'm using the latest kernel, tint2, Openbox, NVIDIA "240xx" drivers (happened with nouveau too anyway).
Any suggestions?

You're starting dbus manually somewhere, and it's causing problems. Find where you're calling dbus-launch, and remove it.

Well I tried some things and in the end I got it working by modifying my ~/.config/openbox/autostart file, it looked like this:
pasystray &
nm-applet &
tint2 &
feh --bg-fill ~/.wallpaper.jpgAnd now it looks like this:
tint2 &
pasystray &
feh --bg-fill ~/.wallpaper.jpg &
nm-applet &So basically I moved it to the end of the file and I added "&" to feh.
Not sure what happened here but I'm happy with the results.
Cheers!
