Nautilus: folder with dot(s) in name cause unwanted behavior

Hi!

Under gnome shell, when a folder has dot(s) in it's name, Nautilus treat folder like files, causing some unwanted behavior :

Example with a folder named "version3.2.1"

When renaming the folder the default selected text will be "version3.2."

when compressing the default name will be "version3.2"

And when copying, the copy will be named "version3.2 (copy).1"

Is this a know (bug/feature) and any idea how to fix this ?

Go to the project page and open a bug report. This shouldn't be the case with folders.
