i8042: Warning: Keylock active

Hi,

Since recently (it occured after some bigger update, so I cannot attribute it to a specific package) I cannot type anything into the lightdm login screen, nor can I switch to a different TTY. My machine (a laptop) simply doesn't react to the keyboard or mouse.
Everything works perfectly using an arch live USB device and on windows.

Skimming through the logs, I found the line

i8042: Warning: Keylock active

which sounds suspicious. However, google gives me almost nothing about this, except for some posts related to kernel 2.6 long time ago.

I tried updating the system, rebuilding the kernel image, rebuilding all dkms modules, disabling laptop-mode and so on. I also tried using an external USB keyboard.

Do you have any suggestion what this is and how I can try to debug it further?

Thank you,
janoliver

Re: i8042: Warning: Keylock active

Seems to be "keyboard inhibit" described here. No idea why it happens but I'm pretty sure it was a kernel update that caused this. See if adding i8042.unlock=1 to kernel command line helps.
