No mic after reboot [Solved}

Hi
I'v been aware that my microphone ( a4tech headphone that plugged in back PC slot ) doesn't have any input and can not detect my voice also in Steam voice test and TeamSpeak3 voice test after rebooting.
but when i replug the mic wire in slot it works fine.it made me confuse.
also i commented all lines in

/etc/asound.conf

following by this Guide

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Advanced_Linux_Sound_Architecture/Troubleshooting#Simultaneous_playback_problems

but i didn't uninstall Pulseaudio yet and it shows in mentioned Apps as Pulseaudio and as i said does not detect my voice after every reboot unless replugging it.

also when i try

arecord -d 5 -f dat test-mic.wav

it shows up the following error:

ALSA lib pcm_dsnoop.c:618:(snd_pcm_dsnoop_open) unable to open slave
arecord: main:786: audio open error: No such file or directory

please help!
i don't want replug the socket eachtime after rebooting.
any output command or log file if need, mention it please.
thanks

Re: No mic after reboot [Solved}

If you use pulseaudio (you still do if I read correctly?), post

sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
pacmd list-cards

and

pacmd list-sources

that last one before it works and after it works after a replug. (And revert the advice from the wiki link, as it stands it works around a problem that is not relevant for your case)

Re: No mic after reboot [Solved}

so i did that revert as you said and this is now my /etc/asound.conf content :

# Use PulseAudio by default
pcm.!default {
  type pulse
  fallback "sysdefault"
  hint {
    show on
    description "Default ALSA Output (currently PulseAudio Sound Server)"
  }
}

ctl.!default {
  type pulse
  fallback "sysdefault"
}

 vim:set ft=alsaconf:

so, already playing a music with clementine works fine but after the change i dont hear anything but player music line shows the music is on playing but i dont hear anything.

now this is the outputs:

[sohrab@Arch ~]$ sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
[sohrab@Arch ~]$ pacmd list-cards
0 card(s) available.
[sohrab@Arch ~]$ sudo pacmd list-cards
No PulseAudio daemon running, or not running as session daemon.

as you see, i tried the second command with sudo.
and the last command:

[sohrab@Arch ~]$ pacmd list-sources
1 source(s) available.
  * index: 0
        name: <auto_null.monitor>

                device.class = "monitor"
                device.icon_name = "audio-input-microphone"
[sohrab@Arch ~]$

i replug both socket ( input and output ) but i dont hear anything and mic does not work also before the change alsamixer command works but it shows up this error :

[sohrab@Arch ~]$ alsamixer
ALSA lib conf.c:1698:(snd_config_load1) _toplevel_:16:12:Unexpected char
ALSA lib conf.c:3458:(config_file_open) /etc/asound.conf may be old or corrupted: consider to remove or fix it

ALSA lib conf.c:3829:(snd_config_update_r) hooks failed, removing configuration

[sohrab@Arch ~]$

it's so amazing because it works before with this /etc/asound.conf configuration.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OMG
i detected the problem that why my output voice didn't work as i said in the above text ( after reverting that file )
i had to comment out all lines except last line

vim:set ft=alsaconf:

now my /etc/asound.conf file content is :

# Use PulseAudio by default
pcm.!default {
  type pulse
  fallback "sysdefault"
  hint {
    show on
    description "Default ALSA Output (currently PulseAudio Sound Server)"
  }
}

ctl.!default {
  type pulse
  fallback "sysdefault"
}

# vim:set ft=alsaconf:

now my system works like before, it means playing music(output voice) works fine but mic does not work. i didn't replug the socket yet. now the outputs :

[sohrab@Arch ~]$ sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
                     USER        PID ACCESS COMMAND
/dev/snd/controlC0:  sohrab      557 F.... pulseaudio
/dev/snd/controlC1:  sohrab      557 F.... pulseaudio
[sohrab@Arch ~]$

and the second output:

[sohrab@Arch ~]$ pacmd list-cards

Re: No mic after reboot [Solved}

Now, outputs after replugging and mic works fine in Steam and TeamSpeak3

So, what is the difference between commands output before and after replugging ?
how can i fix this problem now ?

Re: No mic after reboot [Solved}

...
active profile: <output:analog-stereo>
...

For some reason, before you specifically plug in the headset again, your card profile is set to provide output only. This can be remedied via

pacmd set-card-profile alsa_card.pci-0000_00_1b.0 output:analog-stereo+input:analog-stereo

however, this shouldn't usually happen, have you ever edited your /etc/pulse/default.pa (or anything in ~/.config/pulse/default.pa ?) Can you post their contents (.config/pulse doesn't necessarily have to exist, /etc/pulse/default.pa should)? If you haven't and this happens with a completely vanilla /etc/pulse/default.pa, you can go ahead and append

set-card-profile alsa_card.pci-0000_00_1b.0 output:analog-stereo+input:analog-stereo
set-source-port alsa_input.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo  analog-input-rear-mic

to the end of the /etc/pulse/default.pa which should fix this.

the command (pacmd) done. should i append that lines also ?
i didn't restart the system yet.
btw i didnt any change in sounds files. i don't know why it occurred.

Re: No mic after reboot [Solved}

To have them be applied on every boot you need to  append those to the end of that file. The pacmd command is just for testing while the system is already running.
