Problem after upgrade with my HDD

Hi, i have problems with my HDD after the upgrading of kernel (4,8,3->4,84). When i am downloading a torrent file with qbittorrent, my laptop (samsungo intel icore 3) freezing slowly towards keyboard and mouse dont response (forcing to poweroff manually). In the dmesg, i have obtained:

I runned fsck and after fixing some errors i tried again run qbittorrent and the same thing. After, i runned mkfs and formatted my partion (even change my filesystem ext4-> reiserfs). Actually i dont have problem with qbittorrent, but the same message appears in my dmesg log

That is dangerous for the physically integraty of my HDD? That is a bug of new kernel versions?

Re: Problem after upgrade with my HDD

UNC is "uncorrectable read error" which means the disk can't read data from the platter. Post smartctl -a for this disk.

Re: Problem after upgrade with my HDD

From your output

SMART overall-health self-assessment test result: FAILED!
Drive failure expected in less than 24 hours. SAVE ALL DATA.

So basically, the drive is dying. You will have to replace it.

Re: Problem after upgrade with my HDD

Just for the record, I think this message only means that one of the attributes has reached the "failure threshold" and doesn't necessarily imply that the disk will completely stop working within 24 hours.

This being said, few hundred reallocated sectors is not a good sign. Probably it will keep having more and more read errors all the time.
