2016-12-16: Seems to be fixed in 375.26
After latest update of nvidia I have performance regression in Grid Autosport (45..80fps -> 9..60fps). Does anyone have similar problem? Tried to downgrade but steam not starting without any errors.

Downgrade solve performance problem

Yup, with 375.20 I have noticed under PowerMizer that my card will not go higher than performance level 1 and the memory is locked at 1620 Mhz. I got massive frame drops in Grid Autosports, Deus Ex and Counter Strike.
Update:
Downgrading solves the problem

I can't even load Deus Ex:MD with this driver jusdt before the menu screen everything comes to a crawl.
PS. Anybody got a link to a repo that has the older driver 375.10-2?

Hello!
With the "nvidia 375.20-1" I had random crasches in Dota 2. Downgrading nvidia temporary solves the crashes.
Update: The crashes only happen when I ran Dota 2 with "vulkan" and "nvidia 375.20-1".
@fettouhi - use pacmans cache to downgrade to your last installed nvidia driver before you upgraded.
Regards
Martin

It is advised to follow the How to post guide when posting on the Arch forum. If one consciously jumps over these elementary steps like reading the wiki and providing necessary information about the problem, one can be regarded as a Help Vampire.

I regulary empty my pacman cache, so I don't have it in there, hence the question.

This is why the wiki recommend that you do not clean the pacman cache, see the warning here: cleaning the package cache! In case you cleared it anyway, use the Archive.

I have the same problem. Shadow of Mordor looks like a slide show, DeusEX MD cannot display the main menu.
Will try to downgrade. Fetthoui, you can look into https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/ for past packages.

OK, just downgraded to 375.10 and this fixes the problem. I don't know yet if it is a package issue or a bug in the drivers.

I think the issue with 375.20, which only affect a specific number of users (GTX970/980?), has been reported to nvidia devs here: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topi … /?offset=2. Hopefully they will provide a fix quickly.

Looks it is related to the number of OGL processes. Which desktop environment are you using? With composite?

Can confirm also problems with a GTX 980 and driver version 375.20. kwin compositor has problems to start two or more windows with opengl contexts. E.g. start two vlc players playing a video, then only one is able too show it, the other only shows black. Downgrade solves the problem.

Same problems with GTX 650Ti here...KDE is unusable. I have to use older driver version...

Same here, except with a GTX 970 - downgrading to 375.10 solved all the various problems that popped up with the latest update.

You can add GTX 670 to the list. No idea about games but I had no video on films (SMPlayer and VLC)...
Edit: Also Steam (native) gave me a blank screen.

Nvidia developers are looking into this bug they say on their forums.

Anything new after the recent kde\kernel update?

Weird, I was only noticing today a noticable improvement with 375.20. GTX 680, so whilst I can possibly understand the newer gen cards having an issue, I'm unsure about the GTX 670 which is very much the same family.
Ryzen 5900X 12 core/24 thread - RTX 3090 FE 24 Gb, Asus Prime B450 Plus, 32Gb Corsair DDR4, Cooler Master N300 chassis, 5 HD (1 NvME PCI, 4SSD) + 1 x optical.

You video on VLC?

Video is no problem either. No graphics issues at all.

I also only noticed improvements on a GTX Titan X, there was an issue with earlier versions that made my GPU fans spin up to max when using e.g. the wine-staging CSMT patches which doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Has anyone gotten Steam to work after downgrading? I've got what's probably the same issue some others in this thread have with Steam never loading any windows nor outputting any errors. I had to upgrade back to the current drivers to get Steam working again.

Had to run
steam --reset
to make steam working with old drivers
(it may clear your steam library if its in steam subfolder)

I'm having similar issues. At the start of a session, everything works fine, usually. But then at some point, I can't create multiple OpenGL contexts or Vulkan instances anymore.
When I try to open a second KDevelop window, the application just goes to 100% GPU and the new window isn't rendered. The console prints
Nov 26 13:40:04 altair kdevelop[18270]: QOpenGLFramebufferObject: Unsupported framebuffer format.
Nov 26 13:40:04 altair kdevelop[18270]: QOpenGLFramebufferObject: Unsupported framebuffer format.

Nov 26 13:40:04 altair kdevelop[18270]: QOpenGLFramebufferObject: Framebuffer incomplete, missing attachment.
kwin and plasma also have tons of these messages:
QXcbConnection: XCB error: 2 (BadValue), sequence: 23215, resource id: 109052072, major code: 142 (Unknown), minor code: 3
and when I lock my session, my whole desktop just freezes. When I run loginctl lock-sessions from a VT, the old session crashes and a new one is created, but is usually completely broken (black desktop etc.).
Does anyone know if NVIDIA is aware of these problems?
I'm trying a downgrade now.
EDIT: oh, didn't see the link above. So apparently they are aware and a fix is on the way.
