After my most recent update, when I plug my laptop into its dock I no longer get a display on the external monitor. The monitor is recognised and I when I turn in on in lxrandr the screen resolution on the laptop's display changes, but the external monitor shows no output. The only way I get get the external display to work is to reboot.
I'm on kernel 4.8.8-2-ARCH. This is the output of xrandr when it's in the broken state:

You haven't mentioned which graphics adapter you have.
If it's intel graphics, perhaps try the modesetting driver or alternatively, have you tried the linux-lts kernel?

I do have intel graphics. Ditching the intel driver didn't help, but moving to the LTS kernel did the trick.
Thanks!
