acer_wmi causing issues on HP laptop

I have a HP Pavilion x360 laptop. By default the acer_wmi driver is loaded as it is on some HP laptops. When loaded the acer_wmi driver prevents wifi from being used since it thinks the hardware switch (that doesn't exist) is set to the off position. So far blacklisting the module has worked as a temporary work arround, but with out the driver I can't use the screen brightness buttons nor can I suspend by closing the lid.

Is there a way of having the acer_wmi driver loaded but having it ignore the wifi switch that doesn't exist?

Re: acer_wmi causing issues on HP laptop

Are there any tunable "knobs" available for the acer-wmi driver?

# modinfo acer-wmi

Check the "options" and apply them as per https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ke … le_options

Re: acer_wmi causing issues on HP laptop

These are the only parms I get

parm: mailled:Set initial state of Mail LED (int)
parm: brightness:Set initial LCD backlight brightness (int)
parm: threeg:Set initial state of 3G hardware (int)
parm: force_series:Force a different laptop series (int)
parm: ec_raw_mode:Enable EC raw mode (bool)

None of which seem useful.
