I have a usb c to vga adapter which mostly works when connecting to external screen.
When I connect it to external projector it doesnt and the projector keeps telling me it receives no signal.
I tipically add a mode to xrandr for DP-1
xrandr --output DP-1 --addmode 1920x1080
and if I do xrandr
~ $ xrandr

I can see the DP-1 connected but I cannot manage to get my second screen on it. I tried setting the second screen position in xrand as I would normally do to no avail. I also tried to go through the display config of xfce and that yield no results.
I am running the latest kernel 4.8.11-1 and the latest bios for the computer. Any suggestion on things I can try?
