[SOLVED] GDM won't allow logging into i3

Since a few days I can't log myself into i3 anymore. I'm using the the GDM display manager and as soon I log into i3, the screen goes dark for a couple of seconds and back into GDM. Logging into Gnome on the other hand works without a problem.
I'm on a laptop with 4.8.11-1-ARCH and bumblebee installed. i3 returns "Cannot open display" when starting it from the another tty session, so I'm suspecting bumblebee changed some Xorg settings or it's a problem with i3, GDM respectively.
Any help or suggestion is appreciated.

Re: [SOLVED] GDM won't allow logging into i3

First, welcome.

Next, Logs? What got upgraded that might affect this (pacman log)? Did you do an upgrade before this started happening at all? What errors are in the journal? Have you searched the forms already for similar issues? What did you find or not find?

You have to make an effort to help yourself, and to provide information for others to help. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … ow_to_post

Updating arch fixed the problem for me.
