I was updated packages on the system, nvidia being one of them, when my computer froze. After trying to force exit X I powered off the machine. Now I can no longer start X
The log says:
Failed to load glx
Failed to load /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/nvidia_drv.so file too short
Failed to load module nvidia
Reinstalling nvidia gives a bunch of ldconfig errors
Like /usr/lib/libGLX_nvidia.so.375.20 is empty, not checked
Sorry for shortening the error messages I have only my phone.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you upgraded your system after the crash? May be not everithing was updated if the PC crashed during update.

More or less the same happened on my mother's laptop yesterday. I fought with it for an hour and then removed all nvidia related packages and reinstalled all packages, then installed the nvidia packages after another reboot. It works.

I was able to avoid reinstalling *all* packages by locating corrupted files with:
pacman -Qkk 2>&1 | grep "^.*: no mtree file$"
I uninstalled the corrupted packages, then reinstalled them and rebooted. This seemed to fix the errors. I believe the nvidia update was the cause of the crash
