( Solved ) Abiword documents do not latch on display

When called, Abiword (version 3.0.2-2) documents flash on the display for a fraction of a second and then disappear. 
Don't use Abiword often but problem was noted about 2 weeks ago; after an Arch update.
Gnumeric documents still display nominally.
What can I do to get Abiword to stay on display?

Run Abiword on terminal to see if there is any output error.
