Strange characters in directories

It's not characters in directories, it just looks like quotes are not being displayed properly.  As for the random flailing of commands, it looks like you are trying to do an installation out of order.  You mount the partitions, use pacstrap to install the system then you chroot.  Or in otherwords, follow the wiki.

The obscure eMMC or SDIO device in your laptop is most likely not supported in the current vanilla Linux kernel or at least not in the kernel version used in the Arch iso. This is a common problem. I have no adhoc solution, research eMMC/SDIO.

I've installed Arch Linux 2 times on that netbook and I was using Ubuntu 16.04 so far. There is no issue with GNU/Linux.

I've realized what I was missing. I forgot to wipe all data from my efi partition, so it had data from my previous installation.

umount /dev/mmc...p1 (It was mounted to /mnt/boot)
mkfs.vfat /dev/mmc...p1
mount /dev/mmc....p1 /mnt/boot
