I'm using a laptop, so using swap results in my computer slowing down. Therefore, I wrote a page on the wiki to empty the swap, and make the computer running smooth again:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Empty_Swap
Positive criticism is welcome .

Thank you! Nice script/wiki-page
Haven't been here in a while. Still rocking Arch.

It sounds like you might want to check out the "swap prefetching" support in the -ck kernels instead. It intelligently reloads the swapped memory back to RAM when the machine is idle.
The support can be found under
General Setup -> Support for paging of anonymous memory -> Support for prefetching swapped memory
in make menuconfig.

BTW, the swap prefetch option is enabled in kernel26beyond from the extra repository.

And in kernel26ck in community.
