Hi guys, I just installed Arch yesterday and I seem to have problems with gksu.
I tried to run "android" with gksu, and a message box pops out prompting me for password. However, whenever I type in my password and hit "OK", the password just shows up in the terminal where i launch the command
gksu android
Is there any fix for this I assume is a mis-configuration of some sort or bug?

They key will likely be the "android" command.
What is that exactly and does "gksu xterm" show the same behavior? (ensure that xterm is installed)

Works well in xterm, but not in terminal.
I actually found a way to solve the problem in terminal. From gksu-properties, set Grab mode to prompt, then when it prompts you to get screen, press "no" and everything would work.
ps. how do I close this thread?

Edit the first post and prepend [SOLVED] to the subject.
What do you mean by "terminal" - a virtual terminal (ie. what you get when pressing ctrl+alt+f1)?

I've been having the same issue as the original post for several months now. His suggestion to change settings in gksu-settings allowed me to enter my password, but I then get the following error:
Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 keyCannot open display:
Is that a separate issue? Should I start a new thread as this one has been marked solved?
Hey, be nice...I'm new at this!

yes, open a new issue, you can have link to this thread in your post, if you like.
