Hi there,
I got a new Laptop (*yey*) and wanted to install arch on it, since it has some pretty new Hardware (Schenker H507) in it. I'm new to arch, but not new to Linux. Since its bleeding edge technology, i thought a bleeding edge OS would fit good.
Just installed the system completely fresh, following the instructions in the wiki, then headed over to the bumblebee page and did what was said there. I additionally install xorg-xinit and tried to start x, but got a failure: https://pb.gehidore.net/n1VL.log
"nvidia-debugdump --list" and "nvidia-smi" throw the correct information about the card. I got no additional xorg.confs, only what came with nvidia and bumblebee.
Would be nice if someone could help
PS: the two Cards (lspci | grep VGA)
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 530 (rev 06)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GP106M [GeForce GTX 1060]

I just read about "Driver Persistence" and enabled it (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NV … ersistence)
Now my log is: https://pb.gehidore.net/57pw.log

I just checked the 'nvidia-xconfig --query-gpu-info' - one time when i attach an external monitor, and one time when not:

To me, it seems that the issue boils down to a not recognized internal screen.
PS: But even with the externally attached Monitor X wont boot, neither under the user, nor under root.

Since that one line
[ 11.423] xf86EnableIOPorts: failed to set IOPL for I/O (Operation not permitted)
bothered me, i logged in as root and tried to start x, with an external monitor attached. It started. So it really boils down "internal monitor not recognized".

Since it works as root, i quickly installed gdm and am now able to load a window manager on my external monitor. But still, internal monitor is not working. It isn't even recognized, by no program.

I had to flick a switch in the Bios to get it working: https://imgur.com/QgnsnAB
It was the "MSHybrid to Discrete"-Switch and needed to be switched to "Discrete".
