Hello guys,
Yesterday I started up a VNC-server on my Archlinux laptop for remote control.
I'm having troubles with the keyboard mapping because some buttons just won't work through the Vnc Viewer.
I am running Awesome Window Manager under X.
Swedish keys doesn't work when pressed, not even using Shift+[key] works for the broken ones.
I have tried connecting from both a Windows 8.1 system and also from a different Archlinux installation.
Same error when viewing the server remotely!
On the Archlinux which runs the server, this is my xkbmap:
Setting verbose level to 10
locale is C
Trying to load rules file ./rules/evdev...
Trying to load rules file /usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/evdev...
Success.
Applied rules from evdev:
rules: evdev
model: pc105
layout: se
Trying to build keymap using the following components:
keycodes: evdev+aliases(qwerty)
types: complete
compat: complete
symbols: pc+se+inet(evdev)
geometry: pc(pc105)
xkb_keymap {
xkb_keycodes { include "evdev+aliases(qwerty)" };
xkb_types { include "complete" };
xkb_compat { include "complete" };
xkb_symbols { include "pc+se+inet(evdev)" };
xkb_geometry { include "pc(pc105)" };I tried exporting some different xkb variables in the xstartup-script for the vnc-server aswell:
export XKBMODEL='pc105'
export XKBLAYOUT='se'
export XKL_XMODMAP_DISABLE="1"I tried with both XKL_XMODMAP_DISABLE set to 0 and 1, no difference.
I googled this problem and found similar problems running Gnome under X but none of the solutions found there works for me.
Anybody can help me in the right direction cos' I think I've hit a dead end..
Edit:
If I'm SSH'ing to the same server, I have no problem with keyboard input and layout.
It works like a charm in every other way.. Trouble only occurs through VNC viewing
Thanks for your time,
Regards,
Leif Kryfert
