KDE Plasma 5 Login Screen

I am new to Arch and managed to get Plasma 5 up and running the the SDDM display manager. But when I boot up the computer I get this ugly login screen. Not the annimation but the place where you put in your password. I have firgured out how to set the login screen to breeze but that only changes it when I have logged in at least once and then logout. So I want to change the bootup login screen.

How would I do this?

Thanks in advance!

If you mean the SDDM theme:
- Arch SDDM wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/SDDM
- Archlinux themes for SDDM: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=196871
- KDE Store SDDM themes: https://store.kde.org/browse/cat/101/
- SDDM themes: https://www.reddit.com/r/sddm_themes/
- SDDM theming: https://github.com/sddm/sddm/wiki/Theming

or KDE Splash ?

KDE Splash is part of of the 'Look And Feel' - KDE System Settings > Workspace Theme > Look And Feel > Get New Looks

and then

KDE System Settings > Workspace Theme > Splash Screen

If you want to edit the Look and Feel theme, there is the Look and Feel explorer - it is part of the plasma-sdk: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extr … lasma-sdk/

Re: KDE Plasma 5 Login Screen

You can set the theme in /etc/sddm.conf

[Theme]
# Current theme name
Current=breeze

I was able to change everything mentioned in your post but my login screen still looks like this: http://imgur.com/a/Hpobc

There is no way I have been able to change this in settings.

Re: KDE Plasma 5 Login Screen

Hi,
You may want to install/check package sddm-kcm (its in extra).
If this package is installed you can configure your theme in kde control center without editing config files.

I have sddm-kcm installed. Is the kde control center different from system settings?

Your image is from the backup sddm theme - It is used when there is a fatal error in the selected theme.

Please execute:

sddm-greeter --theme /path/to/you/theme

in the terminal / Konsole and show the output.

As told in the https://github.com/sddm/sddm/wiki/Theming:

Testing

You can test your themes using sddm-greeter. Note that in this mode, actions like shutdown, suspend or login will have no effect.

sddm-greeter --theme /path/to/you/theme

An example

Breaking the KDE Breeze SDDM theme and testing in the konsole:

$ sddm-greeter --test --theme /usr/share/sddm/themes/breeze/

There is an error message in the bacukup greeter screen: http://imgur.com/8fN6ElJ

and the Konsole is telling:

[10:39:32.735] (WW) GREETER: file:///usr/share/sddm/themes/breeze//Main.qml:20:1: module "QtQuick" is not installed
     import QtQuick 666
