Mathematica Colors Fouled Up

I've had this problem for forever, and I can't seem to figure it out. I've set the theme using the Option Inspector, setting the property XDefaultApplicationStyle to windows, adwaitia, and breeze, but it's always just this same blacked background. What can I do to get this to work? I know that Mathematica relies on QT themes, but apparently it might have it's own internal themes? If this is true, how do I fake out the non-functioning plastique theme for something that would work reasonably well? I just don't like the black backgrounds when interactives have black foreground text!!!

Re: Mathematica Colors Fouled Up

So the issue was with .Xresources having issues with wildcard values (eg *background vs. xterm*background).

Sorry for the incorrect image handling, I have forgotten some things since I've last posted here. I'll RTFM before making another thread.
