Redshift does not adjust color temperature

Hi all,

When running redshift -v I see it runs and adjust the color temperature but I see no difference. Here is the output:

Using provider `geoclue2'.

Re: Redshift does not adjust color temperature

What desktop environment are you using?

Sakura:-
Mobo: MSI MAG X570S TORPEDO MAX // Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X @4.9GHz // GFX: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT // RAM: 32GB (4x 8GB) Corsair DDR4 (@ 3000MHz) // Storage: 1x 3TB HDD, 6x 1TB SSD, 2x 120GB SSD, 1x 275GB M2 SSD

Re: Redshift does not adjust color temperature

Use Xorg rather than wayland. redshift does not work on wayland.

what happens when using

redshift -O 3600

or something like that?

How sure are you about this? What does 'echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE' print?

Assuming it prints x11, tell us more about your graphics set up. What hardware are you using? How is it configured?

Re: Redshift does not adjust color temperature

I have exactly the same error.

My windows manager is Awesome, and Redshift has always worked on all my machines under Arch Linux and Awesome until now. It's the first time that Redshift does not work. When I run it with:

redshift -v -t 3000:2500 -l 49:2.3

everything seems to work fine:

Solar elevations: day above 3.0, night below -6.0
Temperatures: 3000K at day, 2500K at night
Brightness: 1.00:1.00
Gamma (Daytime): 1.000, 1.000, 1.000
Gamma (Night): 1.000, 1.000, 1.000
Gamma ramp size too small: 0
Failed to start adjustment method randr.
Trying next method...
Using method `vidmode'.
Waiting for initial location to become available...
Location: 49.00 N, 2.30 E
Colour temperature: 6500K
Brightness: 1.00
Status: Enabled
Period: Daytime
Colour temperature: 3000K

but the screen's colour does not change.

Furthermore, XDG_SESSION_TYPE is set to tty and lspci -v | grep -A1 -e VGA -e 3D outputs:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation G94GL [Quadro FX 1800] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
Subsystem: NVIDIA Corporation Device 062c

Would someone have a solution to fix this problem please?

Thank you in advance
