cinnamon-screensaver stopped working [SOLVED]

Hello and a happy new year everyone!

With today's update I upgraded

cinnamon (3.2.1-4 -> 3.2.7-1)
cinnamon-desktop (3.2.0-1 -> 3.2.4-2)
cinnamon-screensaver (3.2.2-1 -> 3.2.13-1)

and a few other cinnamon-related packages. Since then I can no longer lock my screen. On startup the following message is generated in journalctl:

Dez 31 23:12:58 Arch /usr/lib/gdm/gdm-x-session[655]: Traceback (most recent call last):
Dez 31 23:12:58 Arch /usr/lib/gdm/gdm-x-session[655]:   File "/usr/share/cinnamon-screensaver/cinnamon-screensaver-main.py", line 13, in <module>
Dez 31 23:12:58 Arch /usr/lib/gdm/gdm-x-session[655]:     import setproctitle
Dez 31 23:12:58 Arch /usr/lib/gdm/gdm-x-session[655]: ImportError: No module named 'setproctitle'

And every attempt to lock the screen via "cinnamon-screensaver-command -l" produces the following log message:

Dez 31 23:15:52 Arch /usr/lib/gdm/gdm-x-session[655]: Can't connect to screensaver!

Anyone else with this problem?

Re: cinnamon-screensaver stopped working [SOLVED]

I have exactly that issue.

I've been tried to downgrade package cinnamon-screensaver to version 3.2.2-1 from Arch Linux Archive and login again. Then screensaver is going to show up but makes login impossible (infinite password checking). I didn't try to downgrade all related packages because it's not a solution.

I don't see this issue on official bug-tracker of cinnamon-screensaver yet.

Re: cinnamon-screensaver stopped working [SOLVED]

There was a dependency issue with the release 3.2.13-1. Install the python-setproctitle package and then logout. The cinnamon screensaver should function correctly once you log back in.
A bug was just opened up against this. https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/52316
