IRQ conflict on an Acer aspire E5-575G, touchpad stops working

Hi,

(I wasn't sure if I should post here of under the "laptop" section)

I have an Acer Aspire E5-575G i5 8GB 256GB SSD GTX 950M and have installed Arch and Gnome 3 on it. I am having a problem with the touchpad which stops working after a while. From checking dmesg I have drawn the conclusion that there is an IRQ conflict. Kernel output suggests using "irqpoll" as boot parameter. I added that and managed to boot, but after that first initial boot the kernel fails to boot when I use that option. Screen goes black some time after swap partition is mounted.

Any suggestions on how to fix?

dmesg output:

See advice on Arch wiki page for similar model.

E.g. check if there is a BIOS update available. Check the Linux kernel commandline options mentioned.
