System theme not saved in Clementine/VLC etc? [SOLVED]

hey

I've problem with clementine/VLC not saving the system default colors.. I can make them work if I switch appearance to other then switch back.

this is how it looks after restart of PC http://i.imgur.com/ndQYqQx.png -> http://i.imgur.com/OMU5s7u.png how it should look with my current theme arc dark + numix icons.

after restart http://i.imgur.com/l2UGZ4w.png -> http://i.imgur.com/FDMn5c3.png after switching appearance.

Re: System theme not saved in Clementine/VLC etc? [SOLVED]

are the changes written back to ~/.config/vlc/*?
If not, do you lack permissions? Does vlc crash on exit?
strace it and grep it for "open" and "config"?

Sorry but I'm sort of new still in linux so I can't give info about the strace and grep. I did notice it does write stuff in the config file in vlc and clementine but after reboot it's still same but not displaying it correctly.

I did notice it does write stuff

How, if you didn't strace it?

- ensure vlc isn't running
- copy the ~/.config/vlc folder to ~/.config/vlc.bak
- start vlc, adjust settings, quit it

diff -pru ~/.config/vlc.bak ~/.config/vlc

Tells you if and what changed. If the  answer is "nothing" it's time for a strace.

I'm not sure what exactly fixed it but installed pacman key and infinality then it seemed to be fixed..

problem solved.
