Cannot use firewire camera

Good morning.
I have a lot of VHS that i would like to transfer to my PC. So I bought a "Firewire to USB" cable on Amazon, to use with the old camera. It arrived today.
I proceeded with installing drivers and "kino". When I open it, with connected camera, and select "Capture", it return me an error (on the bottom): "WARNING: raw1394 kernel module not loaded or failure to read/write /dev/raw1394!". So, I checked, but "/dev/raw1394" doesn't even exist! Unplugging the cable, and plugging it in again, "dmesg" output is:

[ 1333.070414] usb 1-8: new low-speed USB device number 15 using xhci_hcd
[ 1333.240424] usb 1-8: device descriptor read/64, error -71

[ 1335.233746] usb 1-8: device not accepting address 18, error -71
[ 1335.233799] usb usb1-port8: unable to enumerate USB device

Have you any idea on what can I do?
Thanks.

Have you tried loading the module?

Is that not expected?

Re: Cannot use firewire camera

Okay, the running kernel matches the installed kernel.  I just checked, and I don't have that kernel module on my system either;  When I get home tonight, I might have more time to look in  the Arch kernel configuration and see if it is disabled.

Re: Cannot use firewire camera

Sorry, got home last night and encountered a crisis.  I'll try again tonight.

Re: Cannot use firewire camera

Hi.
Have you find a solution?
Do you think that I should use the (so hated) Windows, to convert the videos?
