Konqueror - no navigation pane in filemanager

Hi,
I am using i3wm and just have parts of kde installed. I can't find a way to get the navigation bar/pane (whatever it is called) in my konqueror fm. There is no option and no way for me to get to a view on the left with a overview over my filesystem structure. (Found a tutorial where they told me to just press F9 but there is no F9-Shortcut in my konqueror...)

I would appreciate your help!

Thank you in advance.

Greetings
me

I think this is a known issue:

Perhaps try contacting the upstream developers to find a solution.

It's called (or rather was called) "sidebar", and it doesn't exist any longer. In general for anything more than basic ocasional file browsing you should use dolphin instead of konqueror.

Re: Konqueror - no navigation pane in filemanager

Is there a way to use dolphin as default in Konqueror (same question for okular) -> means that I want to see dolphin as fm in konqueror if I start Konqueror and when I open a pdf i would like to open it in konqueror tab with okular (as default).
Is this possible, and if yes, how?

Re: Konqueror - no navigation pane in filemanager

Well, what's the point of -not- using KDE Plasma then? Displaying several other applications as tabs in Konqueror is a functionality that requires a lot of underlying services, such as KIO and so on. To be able to achieve the same with Konqueror in different environment, such as i3, you'd basically have about 80% of the Plasma desktop installed.
