Hi everyone,
I have an issue with my dual monitor setup. With the command
xset dpms force [off/suspend/standby]
I haven't the expected outcome. My monitors power off for a short while (1-2 seconds), then blackening with backlight on. If I try this with only one monitor enabled, everything works as expected.
Here are some of the things I tried:
Different Environments: XFCE, Gnome, KDE, currently working on KDE
Adding
sleep 1 &&
before xset command.
Tried different settings in the System Settings
Some tries with vbetools. This doesn't work for me or freezes my system.
Tried this with no positive result
Some more stuff, which doesn't had an effect
An intermediate solution is to hibernate the system, when not in use. But this isn't possible, if I have some simulations running or want to access via ssh (set up WOL is a pain in the ass).
Here are some details on the machine:
Arch Linux with KDE
Data Sheet for HP Z420 Workstation with Nvidia Quadro K2000
Dual monitor setup via DP (both monitors)
feel free to ask for further details
Installed drivers:
pacman -Qs nvidia
local/cuda 8.0.44-3
NVIDIA's GPU programming toolkit
local/lib32-nvidia-libgl 375.26-2
NVIDIA drivers libraries symlinks (32-bit)
local/lib32-nvidia-utils 375.26-2
NVIDIA drivers utilities (32-bit)
local/libvdpau 1.1.1-2
Nvidia VDPAU library
local/nvidia 375.26-1
NVIDIA drivers for linux
local/nvidia-libgl 375.26-2
NVIDIA drivers libraries symlinks
local/nvidia-utils 375.26-2

local/opencl-nvidia 375.26-2

It would be very helpful, if you have some suggestions for a solution. If you have any more questions, just ask!
Greetings,
Laenan
P.S.: Hope I got this in the correct section. There are some threads concerning this issue but none of them seems to refer to my problem.
References:
"Topic: Dual Monitor: "xset dpms force off ", but backlight returns" in an Manjaro-Forum. Seems like the same issue, but there isn't a solution in this thread.
