The disk-activity led always distracts me from the content of the document I am viewing (maybe I am a sensitive person). I should do something to stop this.

P/S: But I also want a better answer cause the black tape doesn't make things beatiful.

You may need to do some exploring, but look around in /sys/class/leds for things that sound related to the LED in question. Follow links to other directories in /sys. See if you can find a "file' in the sys structure that relates to disabling the LED, setting its state off, maybe turn its brightness down. Often you can, as root, write to these pseudo files and change the behavior. YMMV.
