nvidia advice, please, for a non-user

Here's the situation. I don't use nvidia myself, but I will shortly be providing nvidia-ck and nvidia-legacy-ck packages in community to complement kernel26ck. In order to build these correctly, I need to install nvidia-utils, but there's a conflict with libgl-dri. So the question is can I use nvidia-utils instead of libgl-dri, even though I don't use nvidia?
