Since kernel 4.9.6, my system will not reboot when I issue the reboot command. It shuts down Linux, then the screen goes black and nothing happens. I waited over two minutes last night to see if it was one of those 90 second things. I have to press the hardware reset button to reboot.
I have the same problem with Fedora 25, which is also on kernel 4.9.6. I do not think this occurs with Gentoo, which is on an older kernel, but I will test it and update this post.
The system is amd64 with Intel i5-2500k on a Gigabyte Z68A-D3-B3 motherboard. I have the latest Intel microcode installed (20161104-1).

Never mind. When I rebooted to test whether Gentoo would reboot cleanly, Arch rebooted cleanly. It did fail several times yesterday, as noted above. Gentoo on kernel 4.4.39 also reboots cleanly.
I think Fedora 25 is messing something up. I'm marking the thread Resolved.
Sorry.
