Wrong estimated remaining battery time for first battery

I am using a Toshiba Z20t, which has a second battery in the keyboard dock. The remaining time estimate is shown correctly for the second battery, but completely wrong for the first battery, eg 14h are shown, although the external battery is almost empty and real time should have been approx 8h.

As long as the dock is disconnected, the correct remaining time is shown.

There seems to be a DisplayDevice, which has a correct combined battery time estimate. What might cause the first battery to report a wrong time?
