Gnome-screenshot not auto saving.

I recently reinstalled Arch on one of my workstations( Sometime last week) and i took my first screenshot( with gnome-screenshot) of a financial transaction today. I closed the transaction and went to pictures but found out that the image didn't save. I checked the dconf-editor for the autosave directory and found the following output below.

auto-save-directory ''
border-effect 'none'
delay 0
include-border true
include-icc-profile true
include-pointer false
last-save-directory ''
take-window-shot false

In the past, screenshots have always automatically saved to Pictures for me, so i've never manually had to set any location.
Can anyone kindly tell me what went wrong here and if it's possible the screenshot might have been temporarily stored anywhere or whether it can be recovered?

Thanks in advance
