Hi there,
After an upgrade, Kdewallet asks for my password every time I boot the system. "I get the following message: the application kded5 has requested to open the wallet 'kdewallet'. Please enter the password for this wallet bellow."
I tried to search for a solution in this forum, but got no results.
Any tips?
Thanks,
T.

What kind of a "solution" are you looking for? As it says, kded5 wants access and you have to unlock it to allow that.

Install kwallet-pam, read https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/KDE_Wallet and especially http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

I installed kwallet-pam and modified /etc/pam.d/sddm. Unfortunately, kdewallet still asks me for my password every time I start my system. I'll try to dig in a bit more. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

From my thread here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=222741 I expermented with this very issue; do you have autologin through SDDM enabled? You can only synchronise KWallet to your account through PAM if you have autologin disabled; correct me if I'm wrong. I would like to know if there's a way to have autologin enabled and have kwallet also automatically unlock.

If you've autologin enabled, you don't provide credentials. No PAM, no access. Otherwise the root user could break into your wallet (or whatever encrypted stuff you may have around)
A common problem for kwallet-pam to work is that the passwords don't match.

Exactly. My autologin is enabled. But some (maybe 2?) months ago, I would autologin and no be bothered by KWallet. Maybe there are some recent changes. I'm trying to find a way to autologin and have kwallet also automatically unlock, but I don't know if it's possible...
Thanks.

Nothing accessed kwallet?
Also it is or at least used to be possible to cheat the kwalletmanager GUI into accepting empty passwords, resulting in an unencrypted walltet which required no credentials. No idea whether that still works (iirc you had to enter a password to activate the ok button and then delete the password again, the UI remained enabled and "things just worked" - not suggestable, though)
