Monitor showing up but no signal

I did a fresh install the other day on my new gaming computer. When I booted up for the first time after the basic install both my monitors worked but after five days my secondary monitor is being registered by Xrandr but it's black. I'm using i3wm. The HDMI-1 1680 x 1050 is my secondary and the DVI-D-0 is my primiary. "xrandr --output HDMI-1 --auto" doesn't do anything. This is my xrandr output:

Re: Monitor showing up but no signal

does it actually say "no signal"?
does the monitors OSD work?

xrandr --output HDMI-1 --same-as DVI-D-0

Re: Monitor showing up but no signal

Nothing shows up on the monitor. That command you listed only sets my DVI-D-0 monitor to the same resolution as my other monitor.

Re: Monitor showing up but no signal

It should also have the same position, ie. the outputs should have the same geometry (to rule out "there's simply nothing to show on that output")

If "Nothing shows up on the monitor." means "not even the OSD" the panel is a candidate for RMA.
It should at least say "no signal" or similar when being powered on unconnected and usually you'll find a config menu (color, contrast, brightnes, ...) behind a button on the monitor - which would work w/o any connection as well.

Re: Monitor showing up but no signal

The only thing showing up on the monitor is "monitor going to sleep" but Arch is recognizing it. Right now I have workspace 2 on the secondary (the one not showing a signal) monitor with programs running on it. I can move my mouse to the right and be on workspace 2 and use it. I opened spotify on the second workspace and clicked around and sure enough the song skipped. The monitor is still black. I also plugged the monitor into my laptop (Also running Arch) and the monitor worked.

Re: Monitor showing up but no signal

showing up on the monitor is "monitor going to sleep"

That's the OSD

I also plugged the monitor into my laptop and the monitor worked.

It's usually the cable, but you likely used the same one on your notebook?

Try to change the slot (plug it into HDMI-0)

What's the output of "lspci | grep VGA"?
Also paste your xorg log (for more details on the setup)
