Hi. I just wanted to try out rosegarden, and when I tried to start it I got "rosegarden: error while loading shared libraries: liblirc_client.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory". After installing the package lirc. everythin went smooth.
I guess lirc has to be added to the dependencies of rosegarden.

I'm guessing you are using the testing repo. For some reason, the rosegarden in testing doesn't have lirc as a dependency. Better submit a bug report.

nope, I'm using current/extra/community
#[testing]
#Server = ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/testing/os/i686[current]
# Add your preferred servers here, they will be used first
Include = /etc/pacman.d/current[extra]

The missing file belongs to lirc-utils which is a dependency of either lirc or lirc-beyond. I guess that the original lirc package got split up and for some reason lirc-utils didn't get installed on your system. It would also explain why the rosegarden in testing doesn't have the lirc dependency anymore as it would prevent people using the beyond kernel from installing rosegarden.
I changed my mind about the bug report. Do not submit one. The package in testing is correct and this lirc dependency problem will solve itself when the testing packages will hit the current/extra repo.
N.B.: I don't use rosegarden or the testing repo.
