Virtualbox installation should not need DKMS for LTS kernel.

Virtualbox installation should not need DKMS for module building since Linux kernel 4.9 LTS. The virtualbox official changelog said "Linux installers: no longer rely on DKMS for module rebuilding" for 5.1 release. Linux kernel 4.6 has already support this feature.

Linux installers

AL builds virutalbox from source, we don't use oracles installer.

Is there a specific reason why you want pre-compiled modules for linux-lts ?
Would this be for virtualbox host or guest modules ?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Re: Virtualbox installation should not need DKMS for LTS kernel.

The LTS and non-LTS version Linux kernel are both in official core repository. Why does one support pre-compiled and the other not ? That feels odd.
I don't know how many people using LTS kernel and Virtualbox, but if people don't need to compile codes, every time updating system could be saving a little time for everyone. Maybe that's one import reason why AL users are more than Gentoo.
As for me, I have Windows and Linux for different purpose. Windows could access Linux partition by VM. So host and guest modules are both used.

This is the wrong place for this. You want to post that on the mailing list, not on the support forums.
