Ignore packages from specific repositories

I have some packages from the core repositories that are conflicting with my own local repository. However i cannot exclude the entire package from updates nor can i rename it because of dependencies.

I then found this thread on Reddit

Does this mean there is no solution for this kind of scenario?

Re: Ignore packages from specific repositories

Just list your repo first.

Pacman gets the package from the first repo in pacman.conf that provides it.
