xrandr changes output names

I'm experiencing a pretty weird xrandr-bug, where it changes the names it assigns to outputs, e.g. it changes between HDMI1 and HDMI-1. This has switched multiple times over the last few weeks. I use i3 as my window manager, and this constantly breaks my config, ability to change brightness, monitor orientation (using multiple monitors) etc. since they are configured manually using their display names. Anyone with an idea as to what might cause this?

Re: xrandr changes output names

Have you conicidentally changed your xorg driver, like intel to modesetting ?? If so it can explain this name change.

Re: xrandr changes output names

I haven't changed any part of my xorg configuration. I do run an Nvidia Optimus setup which has caused interesting bugs in the past, though, but it would seem strange that that would cause this out of the blue. I'm also pretty sure it did not happen immediately after a package update or something of the like.

Re: xrandr changes output names

I do run an Nvidia Optimus setup

compared "xrandr --listproviders" with the occurrence of different output names?
