simple GUI for setxkbmap - xorg keyboard setter

Another little script written in python, this one using pygtk. Use it to dynamically set your xorg keyboard mapping.

It's intended for use in live CDs, where various keyboards could be used, but it might be useful anywhere you fancy a quick switch (?!).
KDE and GNOME have something like this already, but with this script you can have this facility in any window manager.

This is not Arch-specific, it should work in any distro.

Get it from the AUR: xkmap

Share and enjoy!

Re: simple GUI for setxkbmap - xorg keyboard setter

Yes, sorry about that, it will take a while until I can get it all set up again. For the moment you will have to get it from the larch package, which should be available for download at http://www.savefile.com/files/5968615

xkbset.py and its glade file xkbset.glade are a bit buried, they are in the subdirectory larch-0.9.10/mklive/overlay/root/bin. Just copy them out to somewhere convenient.

Re: simple GUI for setxkbmap - xorg keyboard setter

I have just put it in the AUR, but I changed it's name - just to keep everything clear (!?). It is now called xkmap ... so grab it now, it's a real Arch package (though it's still only got the two files in it!).
